Founded in 1991, as a privately held company by the Klein family, who had a history of business in consumer electronics. Despite its humble beginnings, Lorex has always strived to develop ingenious solutions that enhance customers' security to fit their lifestyles.

Leading the DIY niche in the security industry, Lorex was the first to release a 5" Black & White Security System that paired security cameras with a TV Tuner.

Leading into the new Millennium

As pioneers in the security industry, Lorex transitioned from the old time-lapsed VCR to digital video recorders. As an extension, Lorex was also the first to introduce 2.4GHz wireless video extenders.

New Horizons

Launched the e-commerce website to keep up with new customers and the increased demand for DIY security systems. Customers could now create a customized security system to suit their changing needs.

Continuing the Evolution

Always customer-centric, Lorex launched the first "All-in-one" solution that integrated a monitor and recorder into a single system. Customers now had an easy way to record and view all their footage on a central unit.

Lorex has always maintained a strong reputation for providing high-quality video resolution. Marking its debut in 2014, the 1080p High Definition wired cameras and NVR system offered the highest video quality in the industry.
